Payment Gateways
Unless you have your own merchant account and are willing to process your credit card payments manually, you will want to look into the option of having all payments go through a third party payment processor. There are many different payment processors out there, all of which have their own pros and cons, and some of whom we're prepared to recommend ourselves.

It is always our recommendation to use the ProtX gateway as it offers realtime credit card transactions and the money will be waiting for you in your business bank account by the next morning. Their fees are also only £20 per month (up to 1000 transactions) with no per-transaction fee, or NO monthly payment and only 10p per transaction for over 1000 transactions per month. Their security is second to none, and their Virtual Terminals also allow you to process refunds, partial refunds, void payments, cancel payments and even process "cardholder not present" transactions through an easy to use interface.
