Search Terms Used
This area of the Store Manager is often overlooked by store owners. Many of them don't think that it's important to know which search terms are being used by their customers while browsing the store. We, on the other hand, strongly disagree.
Let's assume that you're happy with your level of sales, and the level has sustained itself at a reasonably high level for the past twelve months. Wouldn't it be better if those sales had increased rather than stayed stagnant?
A quick look to your Search Terms Used area within your Store Manager shows you exactly what your customers are entering into their search boxes when browsing your store. Imagine your surprise when you find out that one of the most used search terms is "Sony MP3 Walkman 8Gb" and then you realise that you haven't even been carrying that product, as you opted for the 6Gb version when you added the product to your store. For the last 12 months, people visiting your store have been searching for this product and then moving on to someone else because the product didn't exist on your store! Even if they DID find the 6Gb version on your store... they're looking for the 8Gb version for a reason, so why would they compromise on the number of albums they'd be able to store?
They probably wouldn't. Before you know it, they've closed your store and moved to the next store to see if they have this item available. You've not only lost THAT sale, but you've lost the sale for whatever other products they may have found after happily adding that Sony MP3 Walkman 8Gb to their cart and browsing the rest of your store.
