SEO Check
The latest addition to our suite of search engine optimisation modules is the optional SEO Check. Unlike our other SEO modules, this doesn't actually do anything to increase your rankings within the search engines. Instead, it explains how YOU can improve your rankings.
The SEO Check module queries Google to find out how many pages you currently have listed within their database, and then calculates how many pages you COULD have based on the number of products within your store, the number of pages, your popular search terms and other factors which ultimately affect the number of legitimately "indexable" pages on your store.
Your product database is then analysed and you are given a report detailing which of your products are falling short on their main description, how many have too few words for the product name, and how best to increase your rating for each individual area within the SEO Check report. The icing on the cake is the final (potentially damning) report which informs you how many of your popular search terms actually return NO products within your store, telling you exactly which search terms you need to concentrate on in order to increase the rankings for your store.
The rest, however, is up to you. If you manage to achieve a rating of 75% or more, then your store is well on the way to achieving great results within the search engines. A score of 50% or less and you have a lot of work to do.
Ultimately, the SEO Check module can tell you in ONE page what would take you weeks... or even months... to find out by performing manual searches within the search engines to see which pages come up, which don't, which search terms are returning products and which don't. This is invaluable if you are relying on search engines for your traffic.
